Muffin mix and match

December 31st, 2009

Remember the mini muffins I baked using turbo broiler? Soft inside but crunchy and chewy around the edges. I’ve been asked if I just serve the muffins as is. The answer is yes. It’s just butter muffins. However, I have made other versions with corn, cheese, and chocolate chips. The good thing about making a “base muffin” is that your guests can enjoy the muffin with toppings they prefer. Others go for jams, preserved fruit, peanut butter, and marshmallows, to name a few. So during parties, you can just serve the muffins and the toppings and let your friends do the muffin mix and match. It’s much more fun and sometimes you discover toppings that go well together.

My personal favorite… Mini Muffin + Nutella.

It’s a little sinful but it’s a great way to welcome 2010!

Baking Is For Nerds

June 30th, 2008

Yes it is. Here’s why.

I used to not like baking for the reasons stated in the article, but the more I bake, the more I start to enjoy the process. I also enjoy eating the final result.
