Steaks Unlimited is the newest food establishment to open in SM Center Las Pinas. Naturally, the curious bunch would flock to the place like a moth to a flame.  Fortunately, we did not get burnt.  This means the food is not bad. It’s just very uninspired.

The Bulalo Steak (pictured above) tastes pretty much the same as the T-Bone steak pictured below.

For 98 pesos (the Bulalo at 108), they seem to think that shoddy presentation would suffice. The food is good for its price and we’d probably come back to try other dishes. I’m looking forward to eating the grilled squid. It’s the next best thing to eating Paul the Octopus.

Twelve days without an Internet connection can drive one batty. I was nice and courteous to the customer service people of my net provider hoping that they will return such niceties and fix my internet connection.  I called each day for 12 freaking days and they gave me the same useless canned response, “Our tech support is upgrading the base station. Your connection should be back within 24 hours. If not, pls. call and report blah blah blah…”

I’ve had enough of the BS and told them that I will not put the phone down unless I get my connection back. I told them to escalate the issue to the people who can actually make things happen. I was on the verge of crying out of anger. By some miracle, they were able to fix it. I just didn’t know why it had to take 12 days to change settings and redirect to a base station (I’m using Wi-Fi by the way).  Why must customer service turn customers into bitchy monsters before they fix things?

I have had a rough week because of the downtime. I think the internet cafe I frequented during those Internet-less days already made a monument in my name. I was giving them good business. Anyway, just when I thought the suffering was over, I was poisoned by the tenderloin steak I ate. That was supposed to be the steak that marks a break from the low-sodium-low-sugar diet that my dad and I have been indulging ourselves in for the past 3 weeks. It was a celebratory steak, but it wasn’t a happy one. I have never felt so sick in my life.

I will not eat at that steakhouse ever again. However, I am so open to inviting the customer service people of my net provider to lunch in that steakhouse. My treat.
